Save Me by Natasha Preston

Genre: Romance
Save MeStyle: Sad and Emotional
Recommended: 14+
Other: Stand alone novel

The thing I liked most about this book was that it was unlike any other book I have read. I came across Save Me because I had just finished re-reading Silence by Natasha Preston and wanted to read some more of her work and this book didn't disappoint. Its main focus is around a girl called Tegan who is struggling to cope with the sudden death of her father and is in need of being saved, hence the title. In this book you see how she comes to terms with this loss both short and long term. There are two main male characters in this novel which help bring it another dynamic by adding the ideas of love into this already intricate and complicated story line. If you have read and enjoyed any other of Prestons work then this book will not disappoint. If you are interested in romance and emotional stories then you will like this book. The only thing which annoyed me was the inaccuracy with dates. e.g. Preston would refer to something say in October, then say it is January but that's five months later?? Apart from that though this is a really good book! Honestly i'm just being picky!

Blurb:
Tegan Pennells used to care about everything: family, friends, boys, school, and music. But then her dad died and that stopped. She doesn’t care about her relationship with her mum and sister. She doesn’t care that she’s pushed away most of her friends. She doesn’t care that she lost her virginity to her friend’s brother in the backseat of his car. She doesn’t care that she uses men, or what people think about her friends with benefits agreement with Kai, a guy she met in a bar. Tegan doesn’t care about the man that received her father’s heart. And she doesn’t want to care about that man’s son. She doesn’t want to care about anything ever again.

When Summer Ends by Isabelle Rae

Genre: Romance
Style: Romantic and Thoughtful
Recommended: 15+
Other: Stand alone novel

I really loved this book and have been waiting for another book by Rae for the past 3 years! She is a really good writer and I love the plot of this novel. I love how it talks about an issue that isn't ever talked about and something many people think in
inappropriate (student, teacher relations) however this novel focuses on the innocence and struggle of this situation and what happens when love is involved and for that reason this is a very interesting and gripping novel simply about the struggle of two people who are forbidden from being together but are in love. This is a relatively innocent novel and is therefore appropriate for most teenagers and above.

Blurb:
Chloe Henderson has never been one to break the rules or push the boundaries… but during her summer break, she and her friends use fake IDs to sneak into a club. It’s there that she meets handsome and alluring bartender, Will Morris. The pair hit it off immediately, growing closer with every passing day. But as with every summer, it has to end sometime. Chloe’s senior year approaches and there’s a shock in store when she returns to do her final year at school. Will is there too, but he’s not one of her fellow students…
A tale of forbidden love, broken hearts, friendship, and rivalry.

The Wedding Wager by Regina Duke

Genre: Romance
The Wedding Wager (Colorado Billionaires, #1)Style:Sweet and Fun
Recommended: 16+
Other: Stand alone novel

This is a really sweet and romantic books which is based around a business deal made between Kevin and Megan to get married because of inheritance issues but eventually becomes much more then that as they start to have feeling for one another. This novel has quite a predictable ending as you can imagine but this novel is especially good because of Duke's attention to detail and the secondary characters' story likes (Kevin's siblings). Not the classic romance novel but still romantic and with enough plot holes to keep it interesting and engaging. This is one book in a series but each novel has different characters and a slightly different story lines so they are unrelated to one another. If you liked this book you will undoubtedly like the rest of Duke's work.

Blurb:
Kevin Wake hates being rich. He despises everything his father stands for, but he can’t abandon his kid sister and baby brother. Their future is tied to his own. When his father threatens to rob them all of their mother’s legacy, Kevin takes bold action to protect what should be theirs.
Megan Mully is out of the hospital at last. But she’s homeless, jobless, broke and alone. Love is the last thing on her mind. Kevin is just a means to an end. She never expected him to steal her heart!

The Substitute by Denise Grover Swank

Genre: Romance
The Substitute (The Wedding Pact #1)Style: Carefree and Fun
Recommended: 16+
Other: Single novel

I loved how divers and unpredictable the plot was whilst still delivering an imaginative and adorable novel. This book is funny and carefree and the sort of book which will just make you smile. Its perfect for the beach and you will instantly fall in love with all the characters. Just a genuinely good book by a very good author.

Blurb:
Megan Vandemeer meant to tell her parents about her broken engagement, but a month and a half later she finds herself boarding a plane home to her wedding. Having stretched avoidance to its limits, it's time to come clean--a terrifying prospect since her mother is sure to blame her rather than her cheating, emotionally frigid ex. A couple of drinks and two Dramamine later, Megan finds herself spilling her sob story to the tall, dark, and handsome stranger in the seat next to her. With only one week left to save his business, Josh McMillan boards a plane to Kansas City in a last-ditch effort, leaving the details to chance. An unexpected answer is delivered in the form of the beautiful brunette beside him. Though she’s completely loopy, her honesty, openness, and humor charm him. So when she passes out before landing, he helps her off the plane--a good deed that leads to a colossal misunderstanding. Her parents assume he’s her fiancĂ©. In a twist of fate, the mix-up might help Josh save his business, so he plays along, figuring he can help Megan too. All he has to do is stage a public break up convincing enough to appease her mother. Josh is only supposed to be a substitute groom, but the more time he and Megan spend together, the more their pretend engagement starts to feel real…and the less they want to break it off. Can a relationship that began as a farce turn into happily ever after?

Silence by Natasha Preston

Genre: Young Adult
Style: Romantic and Deep
Recommended: 15 and over
Other: Has two further novel but can be read as a stand alone

This book has very mixed review but in my opinion it is amazing and one of my favorite books. Reading the blurb I did not expect the book I got but I am so glad because it turned out to be fantastic. The novel is narrated by a 16 year old girl called Oakley who doesn't speak. This may sound weird to you but it makes for a truly unique and outstanding plot. I cannot recommend this book enough. It contains an adorable love story whilst still keeping the suspense of 'Why won't Oakley talk?' This book is perfect for the summer and I absolutely love it. Please read if you like a romance book but with a deeper plot.

Blurb:

For eleven years, Oakley Farrell has been silent. At the age of five, she stopped talking, and no one seems to know why. Refusing to communicate beyond a few physical actions, Oakley remains in her own little world. Bullied at school, she has just one friend, Cole Benson. Cole stands by her, refusing to believe that she is not perfect the way she is. Over the years, they have developed their own version of a normal friendship. However, will it still work as they start to grow even closer? When Oakley is forced to face someone from her past, can she hold her secret in any longer?

Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

Genre: Contemporary
Style: Romantic and Thought-Provoking
Recommended: 14 and above
Other: Stand alone novel but second novel coming soon

I read ‘Me Before You’ by Jojo Moyes about three and a half months ago and I can honestly say it is a truly amazing book. Although I have to admit it wasn't the best I've ever read it was still good and the story line was both warming and heart wrenching. If you are like me and are more into fantasy fiction than this probably isn't the book for you just because it is a bit slow moving especially at the start  but if the sort of books you like are Sad love stories then this is the perfect book for you. The book is based around the topic of Euthanasia but don’t let that put you off! The main character Lou is in her early twenties and after becoming unemployed goes to work as a caretaker for this paralyzed man called Will who is in his early thirties. This novel is filled with so many emotions and at times I was laughing, crying and smiling sometimes simultaneously. I really would suggest this book if you are into this kind of thing because Moyes is a really respectable writer and this is the sort of book you never forget. Also if you didn't already know a film based on this book is set to come out sometime in 2016 staring Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Sam Clafin (Hunger Games) and Matthew Lewis (Harry Potter)  so if you want to, try and read the book before then.

Blurb:
Lou Clark knows lots of things. She knows how many footsteps there are between the bus stop and home. She knows she likes working in The Buttered Bun tea shop and she knows she might not love her boyfriend Patrick. What Lou doesn't know is she's about to lose her job or that knowing what's coming is what keeps her sane. Will Traynor knows his motorcycle accident took away his desire to live. He knows everything feels very small and rather joyless now and he knows exactly how he's going to put a stop to that. What Will doesn't know is that Lou is about to burst into his world in a riot of colour. And neither of them knows they're going to change the other for all time.
