Silence by Natasha Preston

Genre: Young Adult
Style: Romantic and Deep
Recommended: 15 and over
Other: Has two further novel but can be read as a stand alone

This book has very mixed review but in my opinion it is amazing and one of my favorite books. Reading the blurb I did not expect the book I got but I am so glad because it turned out to be fantastic. The novel is narrated by a 16 year old girl called Oakley who doesn't speak. This may sound weird to you but it makes for a truly unique and outstanding plot. I cannot recommend this book enough. It contains an adorable love story whilst still keeping the suspense of 'Why won't Oakley talk?' This book is perfect for the summer and I absolutely love it. Please read if you like a romance book but with a deeper plot.

Blurb:

For eleven years, Oakley Farrell has been silent. At the age of five, she stopped talking, and no one seems to know why. Refusing to communicate beyond a few physical actions, Oakley remains in her own little world. Bullied at school, she has just one friend, Cole Benson. Cole stands by her, refusing to believe that she is not perfect the way she is. Over the years, they have developed their own version of a normal friendship. However, will it still work as they start to grow even closer? When Oakley is forced to face someone from her past, can she hold her secret in any longer?

Other books in the Silence series:
